Combine articles, blogs & news into one place with RSS

How much do you know about RSS feeds?  Did you know they bring information you want to your desktop, rather than you having to seek it out? Andrew’s blog is now available by RSS, and we’ll show you two easy ways subscribe.

An RSS feed is a way for you to combine blogs, news, special offers, articles, forums, even schedules from many sites into one place.  You control the information you receive, and if the value of a feed declines you can delete it.  All the information is aggregated in one place so you can scan it quickly for items of interest.

Here are two easy ways to subscribe to the RSS feed for Andrew’s blog (and there are other ways too).

Firstly, if you have Microsoft Outlook 2007 you simply click on the RSS feed icon on your favourite website (like Andrew’s blog for example) and use the drop box to select ‘subscribe to this feed using – Microsoft Office Outlook.’  This will create a folder within Outlook called ‘RSS Feeds.’ From then on you will get updates from that website – it’s as easy as that!

A second way to use RSS feeds is to go to your favourite website, click the RSS icon, then select ‘subscribe to this feed using – Google’ from the drop box.  You are then prompted to create your own iGoogle home page that shows your RSS feeds, and stuff like Gmail, all on one personalized page.

RSS stands for really simple syndication, and it really is simple to use. The steps described above are self-explanatory, but if you have any problems just call us.  It’s a five minute job that will end up saving you lots of time!
