IT Partners is making a big investment in being ready for Internet Protocol v6. With IPv4 address space running out worldwide, with some predicting less than 90 days until the last /8 (block of around 16million addresses) is allocated, we want to make sure our networks and clients are ready.
Demand for IP address space has gone wild, due to popularity and uptake of home broadband, smart mobile phones, emerging internet connectivity in previously unconnected parts of the world, and internet enabled devices like the iPad. This has necessitated a new standard to be developed that allows for growth.
We will also be shortly be rolling out IP v6 services to our clients, starting with clients on the Velocity network.
