Blackberry Protect

Blackberry Protect is a new Blackberry application that will enhance the personal security for our Blackberry Smartphone BIS customers.  It’s a free application designed to help Blackberry users: find a lost or stolen phone; and back-up their contacts, text messages, calendar and bookmarks.   This is all done automatically and using wireless technology.

This application also features “Find your Smartphone.”   You can lock and display a message on your Smartphone, then locate it on a map so you can retrieve it.  If you think it may be nearby, you can then force it to ring at full volume.

Other features include:

• Remotely locate and/or activate a loud ringer when device is lost or misplaced
• Remotely lock and activate a ‘lost-and-found’ screen
• Remotely wipe device
• Remotely backup and restore BlackBerry contents over-the-air
• Carrier administration functionalities allowing carries to administer selected functionalities on behalf of the customer device and from desktop Web portal via BlackBerry user account
